First time here at a highly hyped up place by friends. We got in and were seated fast. We all noticed that the interior was super clean and modern-looking. The Korean aunties were so so cordial and it didn't feel like the typical restaurant experience because they were so warm and you can tell they really wanted you to enjoy the food. I got the seolleongtang and I tried the broth first without seasoning. It's one of the best ox bone soups I've had and it was quite rich yet clean without feeling heavy. Broth had no impurities at all. The noodles were cooked a little on the over side and I did not mind. The amount of noodles was very appropriate. The beef portion was so generous (that I couldn't even finish) and there were ample pieces that were melt-in-your-mouth. I loved that there were green onions on the side so I helped myself to my liking. The salt was so fluffy! It dissolved really well in the soup and it took about 3 teaspoons to season my entire bowl. The sides were great and the kimchi was the spiciest kimchi I've ever had but not complaining as a spice lover. Overall would definitely come back again and is a great hangover food/rejuvenating meal! Worth its price!

This place is BUSY!! Arrived here on a Sunday night and had to wait for ~30 minutes to get seated. There is a waitlist but we have to physically sign up at the restaurant and have all our party present (not online through the Yelp app which sucked). Lots of ajummas running this restaurant so you know it's gonna be legit Korean food. Decided to order Mul Naeng Myun for the first time! Honestly not a huge fan of the broth- it's quite sour which shocked me but it is refreshing on a hot day. But the noodles were so thick and chewy, the waitresses were so nice in that they helped me cut my noodles because I was having trouble! I give a 5-star for attention to detail despite them being busy. They were organizing our food on our table to make things easier to grab like scallions and other condiments. Additionally, at the end of our meal, they offer free Yakult to their guests! I've never seen a Korean restaurant give complimentary drinks before so that was a nice and new change. Because of their service, I'm giving this place 5-stars and is deserving of the wait and hype (also the food is delicious!)

I haven't been here in at least a few years, but after my Soul Lung Tang, this place is so good!!!!!!! I thought that this restaurant was hyped up too much, but after having not been present for a couple of years and tasting the great Korean soup I can't not give this place 5 stars. Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

I grew up going here with my family, and I can confidently say their food is quite authentic and consistent in quality and taste. Their Seolleongtang, or ox bone soup, is my go-to for when I'm feeling sick or need a pick-me-up. (Make sure to season with the seasonings they provide as needed; the broth is intentionally not fully seasoned). Their cold noodles always hit on a hot day, and the noodle consistency is super chewy! Pro tip - you can ask for extra noodles on the side for no additional charge - it's technically included as part of the menu item, and it comes with its own bowl of freshly cold broth! And the galbijjim is 10/10 so flavorful and the meat is super tender to the point it falls off the bone. I love the chewy rice cakes that come with it. Compared to Daeho it's slightly cheaper and I personally think it's just as good with less of the hype. Can definitely feed 2-3. The restaurant is always busy but they have plenty of seating and have quick service. They have large booths for bigger groups but if you're a group of two it's likely you might be sitting side to side with another group in a connected table. The only thing is their service is a hit or miss - I've come with both Korean and non-Korean groups and found that they definitely treat you better if you're Korean - they can be a bit short with you if not.

Went for Lunch Food - 5/5. Banchan selection was standard for seolleongtang restaurants with a variety of quality kimchi. Kimchi had good texture, spice, and level of funk. Do ga ni tang had a rich beef broth with a savory aftertaste and comforting mouthfeel. The tendons were aromatic from the broth and had a soft bite. They paired perfectly with the sauce, which gave it a dash of salty, sweet, and savory. The bibim naengmyun's sauce was on the sweeter side, which lead to it having a pleasantly mild spice level. The noodles had that great chew you expect from buckwheat and the toppings were cut into uniform juliennes, making them easy to eat. The spicy, sweet, and tangy sauce really fit the noodles texture well and was a delight to eat. Service - 4/5. Friendly and quick service. Despite how busy they are with lines of people outside, service was always courteous and prompt. They provide yakult at the end of your meal. Value - 4/5. The food is good and they really hit the spot for when you want selleongtang or naengmyeon. Korean restaurants seem to have had to raise their prices more than others and while I believe it is at least partly out of necessity, it hurts to see that $20+ price tag. It is worth the price of admission, just perhaps not so often. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

Authentic Korean stews with emphasis on beef tendons, cartilage, ribs, and brisket. Clean broths with the option to season it to your own taste which is perfect for those with sodium sensitivity. Kunjip shares a small parking lot with a few other Korean establishments but it does seem the majority of patrons tend to come here. It was packed when we got in around 1130 am and it was still packed by the time we left around 1 pm. When you enter, you'll have the opportunity to put your name down on the waitlist and have a seat in the waiting area as you watch everyone dine on their delicious meals. If you're hungry, avert your eyes and consider checking out the menu! Also there's no outside food allowed so make sure to finish your snacks before dining in. Please also keep in mind that it seems they only seat you if you have your full party there (even if the one person you're waiting on is outside parking their car). It probably also helps if you speak Korean as all the staff members seem to speak primarily Korean, with a few who speak enough English to complete the meal service. After we were seated, we were offered water or tea (complimentary). The tea is a must get if you're here. We ordered a few dishes to share and they were great tasting, portioned well, and fresh. Seol Leong Tang (Soup made form Ox leg bone with slices of beef brisket and white noodles) - the broth was very clean and had the natural taste which is somewhat bland without seasoning but you get used to it after a few bites. The noodles give you that extra substance and the bits of beef brisket gives you that protein and extra flavor. It came out hot and was definitely shareable. Mo Deum Soo Yook (Boiled beef brisket, tail, tendons plate with sesame seeds, oil) - this huge platter was boiling the whole time it was set on our table. The residual heat of this dish keeps it tasting fresh. The tendons were tender and the beef brisket was flavorful. There was an abundance of meat in this dish. For both our dishes, we opted to forgo most seasoning, however each table is provided with green onions, oil, pepper, salt, and sesame seeds. I did add a bit of white pepper to my portion to give a bit more taste. Throughout the meal, most of us paired the soup and meat with the bowls of white rice and banchan that was served (kimchi, cucumbers, daikon). The kimchi was pretty good and they do sell them separately if you're looking to take some home. At the end of the service, we were given probiotic drinks with our bill. Thought this was neat as it totally fits the vibe of a meal to cleanse the body. Overall, Kunjip does exceptionally well with its simple menu of signature stews and braised dishes. The emphasis on the food seems to be the natural flavors void of seasonings although patrons can season their dishes to their own preference. The price point seems pretty high for each dish but the portion size is no joke. On a cold day, this would be a perfect place to dine in. If you've also been eating unwell, you may want to consider coming here for a bit of cleansing!

Kunjip is a Santa Clara staple! Two of us ordered: 1 guk bap (spicy) $20 1 dogani tang $25 Sides are a bit limited, but good. Staff is friendly. Yelp waitlist in person only to put your name down. I let the staff pick...so it was my fault that the dogani tang was ALL tendon. I'm not the biggest tendon person but it was still decent. Future times, I order the Seolleong Tang. Parking is the worst in the plaza, so be patient and wait for folks to cycle through. Otherwise, you'll need to go for street parking.

We showed up around 8:15 when they close at 9p on a Sunday. Admittedly quite late, but we were so hungry and in the area, they still seated everyone who was waiting and everyone else who was after us. They cleared the tables quickly and we ordered at the cash wrap before sitting down. The side dishes were yummy and the soup was also very hot and delicious! Hopefully I'll return when we dont have to rush the staff.
